A special evening on Shabbat Shira, a time traditionally filled with song and spiritual connection. Taking place at the historic Greenpoint Shul, the oldest continuously operating synagogue in Brooklyn, this event will begin with Havdalah, a ritual that marks the transition from the end of Shabbat into the start of a new week, followed by an evening of song with musical guests.feature two deeply soulful and talented musicians who will weave their artistry into this sacred moment. Together, we’ll create an atmosphere of inspiration, celebration, and music that uplifts the soul in a setting rich with history and meaning

Bios of Musical Guests

Erik Goldman is a guitarist & composer living in New York City. His music is strongly influenced by his Jewish upbringing, as well as the traditions of the Mediterranean, the Near East, West Africa, and mediaeval Europe. In recent years he has studied at the Labyrinth Musical Workshop on the island of Crete, learning from Efren Lopez, Ross Daly, Zohar Fresco, Marta Mavroidi, Stelios Petrakis, Peppe Frana, and Theodora Athanasiou.

Eliyahu Beer is a musician, chazzan and channel of soulful song, renowned for bringing into the world the global hit "Vehihiyu Rachamecha". Originally from Detroit, he studied cantorial music at Yeshivah University. Eliyahu's inviting demeanor and soulful singing entice listeners to embark on his musical journey. He has brought his unique fusion of prayer and performance to spaces ranging from synagogues and celebrations to retreats and ceremonies.
